Sometimes a person just has to walk out of the office and break up the day. I’m pretty lucky to have some projects that take me out in the pasture this summer, and had an opportunity to catch this shot. A few posts ago, I wrote how I had no photos of me actually with the cows. Does this one count?
This photo now needs a caption. Can ya help me out?
I also had a chance to capture some other shots. Photographing cows while trying to get the best camera focus isn’t always an easy task. I’m not looking for the best photography with this project, just the clearest shots.
Any tips/suggestions?
If you have a blog post with photography tips in an agriculture setting, leave a link in the comments section so others can learn too!

Up close and personal shot is great! Good composition and at least on my phone has good focus. Fly season probably isn’t the easiest to capture still ears
Unfortunately, my reason for being out in the pasture with a camera is because it IS fly season. Maybe I was just out of luck.
I am actually posting a blog with photography tips today that will apply to any setting, Ryan!
Perfect timing! Be sure to post a link on here so others can find it too!
This post is always on the most popular list. It is mostly for regular cameras.

I am planning on writing a post on tips for using a camera phone. Is that what you are using or a point n shoot?
I actually have a Canon PowerShot for this project, but any comments are appreciated. Usually have my Blackberry with me. One frustrating thing with it is landscape shots or something that’s not very close is very pixelated. What are the best shots to take with my BB camera?

Cow, “Why has Ryan Goodman turned his back on me? Have I done something to offend him?”

For a caption: At last!
See if your camera has a burst mode. Does it keep taking photos if you keep the shutter button pressed. Usually they’ll snap off 5-10 photos in a second or two. That helps with moving objects.
Thanks. I’ll have to check into that!
Here’s one I wrote on tips for iPhone photography. Not sure on BBs but general principles will still apply to that and point and shoots.

Thanks! Liked that post. BB doesn’t have near as many options, but yes the concepts apply.
Caption….Brown Cow: “He doesn’t even see me coming!”
Black Cow: “Hey guys watch this!!”
Haha, you’re the first to mention the black cow. I was waiting on one. Thanks!
“Goodman, this is supposed to be MY 15 minutes of fame!”
“I don’t give my number out to just anybody!”
